Why is it that some daytraders succeed while others fail to trade successfully in the market? When a professional day trader prepares for the day's market, he looks at much more than technical indicators. By simply changing the amount of capital you risk in your day trading, you can turn a system from returning 10% to returning a 100% per annum.
Don't believe advertising claims that promise quick and sure profits from day trading. Day trading is defined as the buying and selling of a security within a single trading day. Your best chance to make money trading is by following the path of the best traders.
Some of the more commonly day-traded financial instruments are stocks, stock options, currencies, and a host of futures contracts such as equity index futures, interest-rate futures, and commodity futures. The most important question of a Trading System is how much to invest and how many positions to trade at the same time. You also need to master the psychology of day trading.
A novice day trader should normally have day trading capital of at least $20,000 to start, so this is not a business to undertake lightly. Many day traders end up losing a lot of money because they fail to make trades that meet their own criteria. Using the leverage of borrowed money to make profits is why many day traders lose all their money and may end up in debt as well.
Trading successfully requires time, market knowledge and market understanding. Does day-trading offer advantages above and beyond position trading? Many day traders only hold positions for a few minutes. The key to consistently profitable day trading is having lots of different trades available.
