The huge stock market boom of the last few years has made many Americans into millionaires, and has attracted many others into day trading. Professional daytrading typically uses indicators such as the MACD, moving averages, and Stochastics. Day trading strategies demand using the leverage of borrowed money to make profits. Although day trading has become somewhat of a controversial phenomenon, its prevalence is undeniable.
Day trading is tantamount to gambling and some brokerage houses have been guilty of overstating day trading as safe and risk-free. Are there effective methods for day-trading? A study in 1999 found that 70% of day traders lost money. Trading successfully requires time, market knowledge and market understanding.
